CBSE - CCE & Assessments

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a new Scheme in 2009 viz. the Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in all it´s affiliated Schools.

The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation :

  1. provides necessary feedback about the Child´s acquired levels of learning and areas of desired additional inputs for enhancement of learning in Scholastic areas

  2. lays equal importance in the Child´s acquisition of proficiency in the Non-Scholastic areas like Life-Skills, Attitudes, Values etc.

  3. emphasizes interest, participation and achievement in Indoor and Outdoor CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (CCA) and EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (ECA) including Sports and Games.

ASSESSMENTS based on CCE Pattern :

  1. The Academic Year is broadly divided into TWO Terms / Semesters.

  2. During the FIRST Term / Semester, after the completion of the portion / syllabus the FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS - I & II (FA - I & FA - II) will be conducted. And at the end of the First Term / Semester the SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT - I (SA-I) will be conducted.

  3. Similarly, during the SECOND Term / Semester, after the completion of the portion / syllabus the FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS - III & IV (FA - III & FA - IV) will be conducted. And at the end of the Second Term / Semester the SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT - II (SA-II) will be conducted.

  4. The Children will be promoted at the end of the academic year to the next higher class / standard based on their performance in the FA-I, II, II & IV and SA - I & II as well as their attendance during the year.

(There will be No Quarterly, Half-Yearly or Annual Examinations)
